CDC Against Flea Collars

The Center for Disease Control released findings that people who play with pets wearing flea collars are exposed to 50 times what the CDC considers safe levels of insecticides.

Whats worse is that children who play with pets wearing flea collars are exposed to 100 times the the same levels of insecticides!

We recommend Comfortis. A once monthly pill used to prevent fleas. We have had great success and lots of good feedback from clients. Unfortunately, Comfortis does not prevent ticks.

For tick prevention we recommend Frontline or Revolution.

If fleas are still a problem while the pet is wearing a topical such as Frontline or Revolution, Comfortis can be used along with the topical. We have seen some presistent fleas in the past couple of years.
